Crochet Makes Me Happy!: Crochet Pattern: The Heart

Materials

100% 4 ply cotton yarn
Size H Crochet Hook


About the stitches
· SC= Single Crochet
· Single Crochet Decrease
· Slip Stitch
· Written in American English Crochet Standards



Skill level
· Advanced Beginner


NOTE: (You may find difficulty counting the stitches in the first round (Round 5) when you attach both top of hearts together. Please refer to pictures below for better explanation when Round 5 and Round 6 begin.

Top of Heart:
(MAKE TWO)
Chain 3 and join to form a ring. Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch)
Round 1: Work 6 SC inside ring (6 SC)
Round 2: Work 2 SC in each stitch around (12 SC)
Round 3: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (12 SC)
Round 4: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (12 SC)
Fasten off by slip stitching in the next stitch and cutting yarn
Make second top of heart but do not fasten off. When finished with second heart top, attach both of heart tops together with a single crochet.
Round 5: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (24 SC)
Round 6: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (24 SC)
Round 7: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (24 SC)
Round 8: *Work 1 SC decrease within the next two stitches. Repeat from * around (12 SC)
Round 9: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (12 SC)
Round 10: *Work 1 SC decrease within the next two stitches. Repeat from * around (6 SC)
Round 11: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (6 SC)
Slip Stitch in the next stitch and fasten off
