Carbon steel is an iron carbon alloy with a carbon content ranging from 0.0218% to 2.11%. Generally, it also contains small amounts of silicon, manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus. The higher the carbon content, the greater the hardness and strength, but the lower the plasticity.
According to the different carbon content, carbon steel can be divided into three categories:
Low carbon steel: Carbon content less than 0.25%. The characteristic is good plasticity and toughness, easy to form and weld, and is applied in fields such as bridges, building structures, and automotive manufacturing.
